What's a Gift Closet? |

Martha here: One shelf of my linen closet is designated for gifts. This is the teacher's gift, the hostess gift, the thank you gift, and the ever popular last minute "Oh you shouldn't have; well, let's see, I got you something too!" gift. Whenever I'm out and about, I keep my eyes peeled for little things on sale that I would love to have but don't need. I buy them, and stash them in the closet along with gift bags, tissue, ribbon, etc. When holiday party time draws near, I go ahead and bag a few for hostess gifts, and keep them by the door. Then all I have to do is grab one on the way out.
p.s. If you are a re-gifter, for heaven's sake put a post-it telling who gave it to you. It just wouldn't do to have it circle back around like a homing pigeon!
